whistlermuseum.gif The Whistler Museum & Archives was founded in 1986 to collect, catalog and conserve artifacts and photographs of the area’s pioneer history.  The Museum’s mission has since broadened to include the development of Whistler resort and the natural history of the region.  The Museum collects, preserves, documents, and interprets all aspects of mountain life and culture for the benefit and enrichment of residents and visitors. Our natural and human history, community events, and legacies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games are the primary focus of our collecting, research, and programming. As a cultural centre and forum for learning, the Whistler Museum develops innovative exhibitions, educational programs, and multimedia projects to enhance Whistler’s world-class reputation.

WFFS runs year-round activities including Reel Alternatives — Whistler's monthly independent film series — Get Reel Youth Film Program, and Feature Script Workshop each summer.  The 2008 Whistler Film Festival showcased 80+ films, including premieres from some of North America’s top directors and awarded more than $40,000 in prizes and commissions.

Spo7ez (pronounced‘ Spo-ez’) develops programs and projects that provide tangible benefits to the Squamish, Lil’wat and the Salish Nations — and the population of British Columbia — before, during and following the close of the 2010 Winter Games. The Squamish and Lil’wat are part of the larger Salish Nation, descendants of the Aboriginal population of Southern British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Traditional Squamish and Lil’wat lands include modern-day Vancouver, Squamish, Pemberton, Lillooet and Mount Currie.  Spo7ez was formed in 2001 following the signing of the ‘Partners Creating Shared Legacies Agreement’ between the Vancouver OrganizingCommittee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) and the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations.
The Vicious Circle — Whistler Writers Group — was founded in 2001 to provide a forum for local writers to develop their craft and connect with like-minded literati. In conjunction with Celebration 2010 and the Whistler Arts Council, the Vicious Circle produces the annual Literary Leanings Reading Series.  Each fall it puts on Whistler Writers Festival and mounts occasional events like the Collective Novel Experiment of 2005.  The Vicious Circle is dedicated to increasing literary arts and opportunities for writers in Whistler; in 2002 it launched the Whistler Writer’s Festival with four programming components: a reading series; a seminar series; a mentor/manuscript evaluation series; and a publishing/business series.
