Art Workshops on the Lake

Where: Alta Lake
When: June, July, August

Since the first people stumbled into the valley we call Whistler, they’ve been inspired.  And why not?  Rugged mountains, towering forests, delicate flora, diverse fauna, crystal-clear lakes and glaciers touching the heavens have that effect on people, particularly artistic people.

Since 2006, Whistler Art Workshops on the Lake, along with the Artist-in-Residence program, have been helping seasoned and budding artists channel that inspiration onto paper and canvas.  Set in the Chaplinville House, a heritage home on the shore of Alta Lake, these one to four day workshops offer instruction in oil, acrylic and watercolour painting at introductory to advanced levels.

This year’s expanded workshops will be led by resident artists from around Canada.  If you want to channel your inner artist and improve your eye and skills, there’s no better way to immerse yourself in this magnificent natural setting and learn from masters.
